To Make a 10" North Star you will need to cut one 51/2 x 51/2 block, 8 - 2 3/4 blocks of the same fabric as the 51/2 x 51/2. Then 12 - 2 3/4 blocks of an alternate color. (I make my blocks a bit different than some. It does waste some fabric but you can use what you cut off to make other blacks for something else.)
Take 1 - 2 3/4" block of each color. Place togther. Draw a line with a pencil from one point to the other. Stitch on that line. Go back then and carefully cut off one side down to 1/4". Press Open. Do this to 8 sets of blocks. Once this is complete you are ready to put your block togther.
I Take my 8 triangle blocks and sew them togther. Pressings seams to one side.
One that is complete. Take one full color block and attach to your triangle set block. Then on the other end do the same. Do this for your top and bottom row. The middle section take one sction and sew it to your 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 " block. Then do the same on the other side. Press. Then attatch top and bottom strips to your middle section. Press
